Healthy Breakfast at Louisiana’s Governor’s Mansion for National Wear Red Day
When I was asked to prepare a trim&TERRIFIC breakfast on Friday to launch “Go Red” day in Baton Rouge, my first thought wasn’t what to wear but what to cook! I have to be there at 5:00am in the morning to have my demo ready for 5:45am and then serve breakfast to 15 people at 6:30am. Well, I don’t have a staff to cook for me so tomorrow I will be in the kitchen prepping my food. My “feed a crowd” Louisiana favorite is Shrimp and Cheese Grits (which I will be making next week for Haley’s 25 friends coming in town-so 15 people-no big deal). Nothing is more fun than my Easy King Cake made with crescent rolls, will bring Blueberry Muffins with Streusal Topping and then my brunch style favorite pizza, Apple, Pecan and Brie Pizza (has apples in it) should complete the menu. WBRZ (ABC) in Baton Rouge will film the happening on 2Une In that morning. My job, besides preparing breakfast, is to hopefully create an awareness of heart disease, the #1 killer of women. So, join me on Friday for National Wear Red Day and wear red and support the AHA –also with February Heart Month, start now and cooking trim&TERRIFIC!! As I say you don’t have to change what you eat, just how you prepare it! All recipes from my cookbooks!
