My Quick Chili recipe from my practicaKITCHEN 101 cookbook is always great whether you are having company or need a quick dinner. Nothing beats a simmering pot on the stove on a cold day in front of the television set.  This is one of my easiest chili recipes and probably my favorite-of course, the recipe is in KITCHEN 101, my easiest cookbook with fantastic simple healthy easy recipes.

Makes Self-Serve Dinner with No Fuss Quick Chili Recipe

Why chili? Well, a pot of chili on the stove is self-serve! So, I can watch the football game and not spend all my time in the kitchen.  Chili stretches to feed a crowd and my easy recipe is a dump and stir quickie–no time consuming all day recipe!  Actually, this has been my go to recipe for years. Be sure to use ground sirloin as any meat ending in “loin” is your leanest cut!  And, if my team doesn’t win, I can count on my chili being a winning recipe!!!!

Quick Chili recipe from KITCHEN 101 cookbook

I needed a last minute dinner so I took ground beef from the freezer and raided my pantry to make this fantastic quick full-flavored chili. Serve with chopped red onions, avocado and shredded reduced-fat cheese.

Makes 4 heaping (1-cup) servings

1 pound ground sirloin
1 onion, chopped
1 (15-ounce) can fat-free chicken broth
1 (10 1/2-ounce) can diced tomatoes and green chilies
1 (6-ounce) can tomato paste
1 tablespoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
ash ground cinnamon
Salt and pepper to taste
1 (15-ounce) can black beans, drained and rinsed

1. In large nonstick pot, cook meat and onion until done; drain off any excess fat.
2. Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and cook over low heat about 10 minutes.

Terrific Tip: To cook in slow cooker, first cook meat and onion in skillet unquick chili recipe is my white chicken chili, beef chili til done.

  1. I actually made this for Super Bowl Sunday without knowing it was on here. It was fantastic. I actually used 1 lb ground turkey and 1 lb turkey sausage. I double my batch so that I would have left overs and be able to freeze it for later. Delicious!
