Holly Clegg’s message:  My message on my healthy food blog and in my healthy easy cookbooks is different than others.  Why?  My approach is practical and mainstream.  With affordable everyday, healthy easy recipes, you can start cooking!! “I have always loved to eat and had a passion for cooking.” Hard to believe I’ve been writing cookbooks for over 25 years (yes, I was ahead of my time with healthy cooking!!) My cookbooks consist of practical everyday recipes but I also highlight diabetic recipes in KITCHEN 101,Eating Well to Fight Arthritis and Eating Well Through Cancer for those who want easy diabetic recipes. If you cook with me, you know my recipes are timeless.  From daily quick meals to healthy Cajun recipes, you’ll find your favorite foods.  Most often, you already have the ingredients in your pantry.

Eating Well to Fight Arthritis cookbook provides everyday recipes and practical tips to help ease arthritic symptoms and fight inflammation. Holly understands the correlation between food and arthritis and includes arthritis diet recipes.  This book includes recipes to help alleviate arthritic symptoms such as joint inflammation, fatigue and nausea. This arthritis cookbookalso includes Gluten-free and Diabetic-friendly recipes. The cookbook has arthritis in the title but is really a practical healthy cookbook for everyday cooking.  The recipes taste fantastic and are easy to make but can help make a difference in how you feel. Eating Well through Cancer cookbookfocuses on practical recipes designed for people undergoing cancer treatment and recipes for cancer survivors.This cancer cookbook is divided into chapters and the chapters include Day of Chemo, Neutropenia, Sore Mouth, Caregivers.  There are also doctor’s notes, suggestions, tips plus more. The recipes have foods best tolerated and ease the side effects during treatment. Also, this cookbook understands the importance of cancer prevention and recipes for cancer survivors to maintain a healthy lifestyle after treatment. Recipes include nutritional information.

KITCHEN 101 is my easiest cookbook and the book includes a chapter for Kitchen Basics.  However, if you are a novice in the kitchen or just busy, this easy healthy cookbook is for you!  It has a ‘D’ to indicate easy diabetic recipes within guidelines of the ADA for those who want a healthier option in a mainstream cookbook. KITCHEN 101 is the only mainstream easy healthy cookbook that also highlights diabetic recipes within the book. Remember, eating a diabetic diet is the healthiest way to eat!

Weight management is on everyone’s list and also being healthy and energetic in daily life. Cooking and eating from her trim&TERRIFIC® series includes KITCHEN 101, Gulf Coast Favorites and Too Hot in the Kitchen. These books help individuals get proper nutrition and reduce cravings which sabotage healthy eating.  Are the books about weight loss?  No, not really but weight loss has been a benefit with these cookbooks. Weight Watchersenjoy the recipes and the recipes fit into the Weight Watcher’s program. Holly Clegg’s message simplifies healthy cooking and gets you in the kitchen cooking to eat healthy! Home cooking is better for you but  it can be overwhelming.  No worries as most of Holly’s recipes are around 10 ingredients and you can prepare them in 30 minutes. She makes cooking fun and easy!

A culinary expert, Holly Clegg was featured on many national shows and magazines and consulted for national brands and hospitals throughout the country. Clegg was diagnosed with stomach cancer in August 2018. After a brave fight, she transitioned to hospice in June 2019 and established the Holly Clegg Gastric Cancer Research Fund with her family. Surrounded by her family, she passed away peacefully on November 1, 2019.

It was Holly’s wish that her brand continue to be a resource for the busy home cook, with her quick, healthy, and delicious recipes. Before she passed away, she created Team Holly to continue her work. Team Holly is made up of Registered Dietitian, Lee Jackson who has been with Holly for over 14 years, along with family and friends who oversee the brand’s social media and publishing operations. In late 2019, Team Holly partnered with Favorite Recipes Press, an imprint of Southwestern Publishing House, to commit to continuing Holly’s legacy. Read More…
