Who doesn’t love a homemade banana pudding pie and my Banana  Foster Pie is not only the best pudding pie ever but it’s also an easy banana pie recipe!  I know you’ve seen lots of Bananas Foster recipes and everyone has a variation of some sort but wait until you taste my creation for the best banana pudding pie recipe from KITCHEN 101.  This bite of decadence is made with simple ingredients of chocolate crust, praline layer, banana pudding and whipped topping. If you’re looking for easy bananas fosters recipe, my specialty is healthy easy recipes. I live in Baton Rouge so I am familiar with this popular New Orleans dessert.  So, what Bananas Foster?  Most banana fosters recipes are a dessert made with bananas cooked in a sauce made from butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and a liqueur. Next, you add a liqueur and the dessert ignites. Of course, there are different variations of this popular New Orleans’ dessert but usually it is served over ice cream. And, it is always absolutely delicious! I took all the dessert’s components and turned this popular recipe into a Banana Foster Pie and put it in my easiest cookbook, KITCHEN 101!

You know how I believe in keeping my recipes simple. This delicious easy banana pie recipe has lots of indulgent flavors but I still kept it easy to make.  I used chocolate cookies for the crust but you can also buy a commercially prepared chocolate cookie crust in a foil pan. Next layer is the bananas foster recipe layer with a touch of spice.  Last, instant vanilla pudding is the dreamy center and topped with cool whip.  Light, refreshing and with a caramel crunch, you will be wowed by this make ahead dessert. By using chocolate cookie crumbs for the crust, you By adding this easy bananas foster recipe to this pudding pie, you have a WOW dessert.  My Banana Foster Pie has layers of the chocolate crust topped with the cinnamon spice banana layer, then a simple banana pudding topped with whipped topping. YUM!

Banana Foster Pie from Holly Clegg’s KITCHEN 101 cookbook

Looking for an amazing  and easy banana pie recipe?  I’m sure you have had bananas fosters recipes before but wait until you taste my banana pudding pie recipe that’s extra special! Simple ingredients like chocolate cookies, bananas, pudding and whipped topping turn into the best easy banana pie recipe ever! Every time I make this dessert recipe, I get recipe requests.

Makes 8-10 servings

2 cups chocolate cookie crumbs
3 tablespoons melted butter plus 2 tablespoons butter
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
3-4 bananas, peeled and sliced
2 (4-serving) boxes instant French vanilla or banana pie pudding and pie filling
2 1/2 cups skim milk
1/4 cup crème de banana liqueur, dark rum, or skim milk
1 (8-ounce) container frozen fat-free whipped topping, thawed

1. In 9-inch pie plate or spring form pan, combine cookie crumbs, 3 tablespoons melted butter, and vanilla. Press into pie plate. Refrigerate.
2.  In nonstick skillet, melt 2 tablespoons butter and add sugar cooking until slightly thickens and bubbly. Add cinnamon, ginger and bananas; cook until bananas are tender. Pour evenly over set crust. Return to refrigerator.
3.  In bowl, whisk together pudding, milk and liqueur until thickened. Carefully spread over banana mixture. Top with whipped topping. Refrigerate.
