Heart Healthy Grilled Best Beer Salmon

Salmon is an excellent source of important heart healthy anti-inflammatory omega 3 fatty acids but have you ever had it grilled in a foil pouch? This good for you ingredient couldn’t be easier to eat than in Best Beer Salmon recipe from Holly Clegg’s Guy’s Guide to Eating Well cookbook. When cooked on the grill in a foil pouch, it holds in so much juiciness. Best of all, no washing dishes – just eat straight out of the foil!

Best Beer Salmon
If you’re drinking beer while grilling, you might as well cook with it! Try this easy moist salmon poached in a sensational mixture cooked in a foil pouch. That means no washing dishes-eat out of the foil to enjoy the juices.
Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 15 minutes
Servings 4 servings
Ingredients
  • 4 salmon filets skin removed, 6-ounce
  • 4 large squares heavy duty foil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt divided
  • 4 slices thin onion rings
  • 4 teaspoons olive oil divided
  • 4 teaspoons light brown sugar divided
  • 8 tablespoons lite beer divided
  • 4 teaspoons olive oil divided
  • 4 teaspoons light brown sugar divided
  • 8 tablespoons lite beer divided
Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 15 minutes

Ingredients

Instructions
  1. Place each salmon fillet in middle of large foil square. Sprinkle each with 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt, top with one sliced onion, 1 teaspoon olive oil, and 1 teaspoon brown sugar.
  2. Pour 2 tablespoons beer around each fillet, not on top of salmon. Fold up foil into pouches.
  3. Grill 15 minutes until salmon flakes easily with a fork and eat directly out of the foil.

Terrific Tip: Cook in the oven at 400°F. for 15 minutes.
