Best Sausage Peppers Recipe Simple To Make and Even Better Than Meat Sauce

I can’t tell you how many times I already made my sausage peppers recipe.  Not only was it absolutely amazing but I loved the combination of the flavors and the simplicity of the recipe. Easy to make using colorful bell peppers with anti-inflammatory properties making it the perfect fit for the Arthritis & Joint Pain Chapter in Guy’s Guide To Eating Well.  Bell peppers are loaded with anti-inflammatory properties including a high dose of Vitamin C. Roasted peppers and sausage recipe makes a quick combination and even those that don’t eat peppers will find themselves gobbling down this dish. Roasted Peppers and Sausage Recipe
Roasted antioxidant-rich bell peppers pack a powerful punch when combined with sausage for a high scoring delicious roasted sausage peppers recipe. The recipe is gluten-free without pasta.
Servings
Ingredients
  • 6 cups assorted bell peppers cored and cut into small squares
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 pound turkey sausage
  • 1 14 1/2-ounce can fire roasted tomatoes
  • 2 cups fat-free chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon dried basil leaves
  • 4 cups fresh baby spinach
Servings
Ingredients

Instructions
  1. Preheat oven 425°F. Coat baking pan with foil and nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Spread peppers evenly on foil lined pan and bake 30-40 minutes until tender and lightly browned.
  3. Meanwhile, in large nonstick skillet cook onion, garlic and sausage until sausage is done, about 5-7 minutes. Add tomatoes, roasted peppers, broth and basil.
  4. Bring to boil, lower heat and cook about 10 minutes. Add spinach and stir until wilted.

Terrific Tip: For the turkey sausage, you can substitute ground turkey, ground sirloin or Italian Chicken Sausage.

Serving Suggestion: I served it over pasta but you can serve over couscous, quinoa or rice.

    I suffer from arthritis which means I experience inflammation. If eating this delicious looking Roasted peppers and sausage meal will reduce the inflammation flair-ups, I will be eating this a lot. Thanks for this great recipe.
