Magic Combo of Sweet and Salty Chocolate Candy Recipe
This chocolate candy recipe is so good even my roommates are asking for more! Hi my name is Emma Pittman and I am a student at LSU, so I am doing a lot of college cooking. Some people believe in soul mates, some people do not. I, on the other hand, believe that there are soul mates for food. How, you might ask? Some foods just mesh together in such a way that a simple every day task, such as eating, becomes an experience. To me, the greatest match made in heaven are the flavors salty and sweet and this chocolate candy recipe has got it all. Holly Clegg’s Chocolate Decadence bark from KITCHEN 101: Secrets to Cooking Confidence (great healthy college cookbook) contains this magical combination of flavors with the use of chocolate, pretzels, and pecans while also including my favorite secret ingredient: peanut butter!
Quick and Easy College Cooking
As a college student there are 2 things you never seem to have enough of – Time and Money. This sweet and salty chocolate candy recipe took me a good 15 minutes to prepare and while it hardened in the freezer, I had time to do things like homework (watch Netflix) and workout (eat the leftover chocolate). The chocolate peanut butter bark also contained many ingredients that we already had in our pantry so it didn’t break the bank. Plus, you can substitute the pecans for any nuts that you already have. Holly Clegg’s Kitchen 101: Secrets to Cooking Confidence contains this easy recipe and several like it for beginner chefs just like me. I love this for my first kitchen cookbook.
Roommates Craving Chocolate Decadence

I know my roomies were thrilled to come home to this surprise because it was all gone by the end of the day. In fact, as I’m writing this my roommate just texted me saying she wanted me to make more!
