- 1/4 cup light brown sugar

That’s fine! I wanted the recipe to resemble Stuffed Cabbage which has a little sweetness but the brown sugar certainly can be left out or adjusted. Thanks for the suggestion as I am sure there’s others that will like it without the sugar too! I think this was my most made recipe this season from KITCHEN 101.

Can this be made with regular brown rice? I don’t like the taste of instant rice.

The only reason I use instant rice in the recipe as it cooks quicker. Maybe add a little more liquid and cook a little longer.
