At Home Tailgating – Homegating Game Day Food

If you are looking for a fun, winning go-to menu for your at home football tailgating (Homegating!) season then look no further! Homegate food must be sharable and easy to dig into while still being able to enjoy your guests and the game. Chicken Parmesan Sliders from the Fatigue Chapter of Guy’s Guide to Eating Well cookbook are just that! These recipes have an exciting twist to their classic version but are still as delicious as ever.

Chicken Parmesan Sliders
Chow down on these simple 5-minute sliders with a classic chicken parmesan taste to get rid of that sluggish feeling. Makes a great tailgate appetizer, party pick-up, lunch or snack.
Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 1 1/2 minutes
Servings 12 (1-slider) servings
Ingredients
  • 1 3/4 cups shredded cooked chicken breast skin removed, rotisserie
  • 1 tomato sauce 8-ounce
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon basil leaves
  • 1 teaspoon oregano leaves
  • 1 in miniature rolls splithalf, 12-pack
  • 3/4 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 1 1/2 minutes
Servings 12 (1-slider) servings
Ingredients

Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to broil. Line baking pan with foil.
  2. In bowl, combine chicken, tomato sauce, garlic, basil and oregano.
  3. Divide chicken mixture on one side of bread and sprinkle with cheese. Lay other half on baking pan.
  4. Broil 1 1/2-2 minutes or until cheese melted and bread toasted. Watch closely. Put slider back together.
