Do You Wonder Is Biking Good For You And Is There A Healthy Macaroni and Cheese Recipe?
Low End Larry Returns- But for How Long? I’m back with my is biking good for you or is biking good exercise dilemma? And what about a healthy macaroni and cheese recipe –could a homemade macaroni and cheese be better for you? Now, ten months after my last post, people have started to notice L.E.L’s absence. Notably, their questions are like this one: “Why haven’t there been any articles?” Notably, they do not ask this: “When will he be writing again?”
Like the oft- told joke about the 5 year old who had yet to speak- “Everything has been fine until now,” Low End Larry hasn’t written… because he’s had nothing to say. That is until now.
Existential questions have been raised. Knock on wood, of course, but he (I) had every reason to expect another 30 years of life. I eat well, exercise, and other than a mild personality disorder- I don’t know whether to write about myself in the first or third person- I have no pre-existing conditions.
My Week Started With Is Biking Good For You –I Thought Biking Good Exercise
The week started with friends telling me that my hobby, biking was killing me because of the pollution I was inhaling. The next day, I learned that I should have gone from mother’s milk to coffee- my 60 year absence, could, you guessed it, be the death of me. Were these examples of “fake news?” (Is it still a convention to put those two words in quotation marks?)
I turned to the ultimate arbiter, Google. The sixth article about biking let me know that, indeed, biking was destroying my lungs. Is biking good for you? Before getting to that one, though, I had to read about how biking leads to osteoporosis, prostate cancer, loss of fertility, and loss of sex drive. The latter two diseases combine well with each other and with another prognosis- female bikers, presumably including my wife, are likely to lose their sex drive, too.
After taking away my wife’s bike, I feverishly debated what to do next. Give up my hobbies? Drink coffee? Quickly find someone with whom to procreate? Instead, I continued searching, this time for the third piece of horrendous news that my friends had shared.

Terrific Tip: Add more milk, a little at a time, to make creamier. Can use 1 cup shredded reduced-fat Cheddar instead of American cheese, if desired.
I was told that macaroni and cheese contains toxic chemicals. Googling for a source, I was confronted with a full screen picture of a box of Kraft macaroni and cheese. Tell Pavlov, please, that I still drool at the sight, this time between the letters “d” all the way to “l.”
Can it be true that the enclosed packet was sprinkling toxic chemicals into me even as it was clogging my arteries? I read on and found the proof: these chemicals, oft times, produce learning difficulties.
I play an online “Boggle” type game. In, oh, approximately 1,000 plays, I have only once attained an “average” score. The one time I did put up an average score, I learned that the game had only been played by one other player, one I now presume to have played while devouring a box of macaroni and cheese.
I am wallowing, but not in self –pity. My brother! My sister! They’ve consumed as much mac and cheese as I have, and, when my mother was busy, I was the chef!
To summarize: biking is bad; mac and cheese is bad; coffee is good. What should I do with this knowledge? Perhaps I should turn off Google and un-friend my friends.
Up until last week, this was a valid question: What kind of friend dissuades you from biking and eating mac and cheese, while pushing coffee on you?
I will turn away from the sagacity of my friends. Instead, I will put my trust in Holly for summer recipes that will not lead to my demise. She’s already published cookbooks that help people with diabetes and cancer. Who knows, her next one might combine recipes for people with prostate issues, low sex drive, and learning issues. I will dive into Holly’s summer treats. After all, I’ve little else to do.
Got to go. Look forward to my next piece of writing, which I will begin as soon as this one concludes: my will. The thermos of coffee is brewing. Maybe there’s still time.
