Why We Wrote Eating Well Through Cancer Cookbook
A cancer cookbook designed to help cancer patients better tolerate treatment and maintain a healthy lifestyle. The cookbook includes simple 30-minute recipes and these recipes were evaluated with regard to their nutritional value. Also, important was taste, simplicity, availability of ingredients and preparation time. Still, today, this book is one of the only books written for people with cancer.
Diagonsed with cancer, my father faced a long journey ahead. Because of him, I better understood the importance of food and appetite during treatment. I tested many recipes on him and the Sore Mouth Chapter was especially important for his type of cancer. Noted oncologist Gerald Miletello, MD felt the need for this cookbook for 15 years.
